To all
There is a bill in congress that the auditor general is trying to get passed into law. At this point the only information he is allowed to obtain is if CYS is receiving the money they are allowed by the state. He can not look at individual files or if CYS is following the law or their own procedures. If this law was passed he would be allowed to do a "real" audit and investigation of CYS. The bill is Bill 126.. I recently met with a representative from his office and she said if we could start a petition and ask each person who signs it to call their representative and senator saying they support bill 126 it would help get this bill passed. The person who is in charge of the petition needs to fax or hand deliver a copy to each of these people and also send a copy to the auditor generals office. (keep the original). I think this may help us as we all know CYS doesn't follow any laws. Here is the information for anyone interested. The web site is www.auditorgen.state.pa.us The contact person is Sandra Williams 717-787-2543 FAX 717-783-4409. Congress reconvenes in Nov. So these petitions should be completed by the 2nd week of Nov. Sorry, I know that doesn't give us much time but I just recently found out about it. One of the members of PA_AFRA connected me with this information. Lets get this handled right away.
